There's a veritable NYC sewer system of shit that I'm dealing with, at the moment (which I'll write about when I have time to do it justice), but something a bit unusual happened to brighten my day today. My personal cell phone has been not long for this world for quite a while, with its dismal battery life and difficulty plugging the power cable. The idea of dealing with AT&T on a new phone made my stomach turn and I'd been avoiding it, until today, when I just couldn't get any sort of reliable power connection with any of my cables. So, I held my nose and logged on to see how much lube I'd need to buy a new phone. Whatever happened to free phones? Having not logged on in over two years and having a repeated automatic payment sent, I wasn't sure what I'd find. My monthly payment was sort of a 'that'll hold you, ya bastards' recollection of my monthly charges. Out of sight, out of mind. One thing I discovered was that the email on my profile hadn't been touched in years as well.

Here's the sunshine part. My account was not only not delinquent, but has a $1,300 credit on it. At some point, my monthly charges must have dropped to $85 and I was sending $100 every month. Clearly that had been going on for some time to amass a $1300 credit!

So, a little happy dance because I can get a new iPhone 11 Pro for free!!! Okay, technically I already paid for it, but it's my fantasy world and I choose my own reality.

Now, get off my fantasy lawn...
