Growing up overseas made learning to speak English like an American an adventure filled with pitfalls. One word I remember having issues remembering how to spell was beautiful. How do you even spell that by sounding it out!?! I ended up just memorizing the phonetics of each letter as they chained together and to this day I still think to myself "Beh-Ah-Oo-Tee-Full". I have to say though the most embarrassing moment of my life took place in an auditorium in college sitting next to a good friend and a rather cute girl. Clearly I was going to try to talk to her but with my thick accent I wasn't sure what to say. I decided on asking if she'd like some gum. Except...well...I mispronounced the word gum. Instead I asked her if she'd like some cum! She turned bright red and my friend could not stop laughing. So I got up and left as I started feeling as if every eye in the auditorium was looking right at me. This was the moment I decided to slay my accent...and so I did! Now that I've properly humbled myself...I'm fairly easy going. Day to day stress tends to not affect me and it takes something rather negative to truly bother me. I have a classic sense of manners. Acts such as opening the door for others (not just ladies), or helping someone carry stuff when they're clearly overburdened are second nature to me. It is common for me to address others by sir or ma'am but don't mistake that as submissive behavior. I'm most definitely strong willed and hold steadfast to my beliefs. I definitely do not shy away from direct eye contact nor confrontation should the occasion call for it. I hold high standards for myself, particularly concerning hygiene, outward appearance, attire, comportment and diet. I strive to articulate my thoughts and feelings in the most forthright as well as accurate manner. Effective communication skills, transparency and emotional intelligence are priorities for me in any type of relationship. I love the outdoors and find joy in finding new hiking trails or just taking in the environment around me. Exploring new places, discovering restaurants, and trying new foods are passions of mine. Though I do also love to stay in watching movies/shows, playing board games, kissing and cuddling as well! I'm an open book.
